Chris Morphew

Chris M. Morphew

Chris started Dakota Resources in 1987 during one of the largest down turns in oil and gas history. Even through these hard time Chris drove Dakota to succeed to the company it is today. Before Chris received his formal education he saw the Oil and Gas business from the floor of a drilling rig and from the outside of a roustabout truck. His experience extends from the end of a shovel to the brake handle on a rig. After seeing the business from a blood sweat and tears standpoint Chris headed off to Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Chris graduated in 1979 and went to work for Gerald Brockman & Associates where he was the Vice president of a full service oil field consulting firm. While consulting Chris and his partners started GCG drilling where they owned two drilling rigs for hire. Once the bust hit in 1986 Chris decided to start what he knew would become a great and successful company. Chris is married to and works with his wife Pam who is his Vice President. They have an eldest son who is currently at Texas Tech following in their foot steps and three very talented daughters.
